Georgia Electric Membership Corporation

Georgia Electric Membership Corporation (Georgia EMC) is the statewide trade association serving Georgia's 42 electric membership cooperatives (EMCs), Georgia Transmission Corporation and Oglethorpe Power. Through Georgia EMC, all of Georgia's electric cooperatives pool their resources to gain strength and efficiency on issues common to the EMCs. Services offered by Georgia EMC include legislative representation at the state and national levels, safety and training programs, economic development, benefit administration, youth and community programs, media relations and a monthly magazine for Georgia's EMC consumers.

National Rural Electric Cooperative Association

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) is the national organization representing the national interests of the cooperative electric utilities and the consumers they serve.

Georgia Transmission Corporation

Thirty-nine of the state's 42 electric cooperatives (EMCs) own Georgia Transmission Corporation, which plans, builds and maintains a transmission system of more than 2,600 miles of power lines and 580 substations. The company also jointly owns and plans Georgia's 16,000 miles of transmission lines and substations with Georgia Power, MEAG Power and Dalton Utilities.

Green Power

Green Power EMC is a partnership of 28 Georgia electric membership cooperatives who through working together have given Georgia residents the state's first choice of "green" electricity. EMCs are consumer-owned utilities that provide energy and other value-added services to their members at cost. The Green Power EMC members represent more than three million Georgia homes, businesses, factories and farms.

Oglethorpe Power

Oglethorpe Power Corporation is owned by and serves 38 Electric Membership Corporations (EMCs) across Georgia, which, in turn, provide retail electric service to millions of Georgians.

Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives

Touchstone Energy is a national alliance of local, consumer-owned electric cooperatives providing high standards of service to customers large and small. More than 600 Touchstone Energy cooperatives in 45 states are delivering energy and energy solutions to more than 17 million customers every day. Touchstone Energy cooperatives serve their members with integrity, accountability, innovation and a longstanding commitment to communities.
